A provider of private-cloud capabilities, delivered as-a-Service

What is ESCgov?

ESCgov is a next-generation systems integration firm that combines solid engineering expertise with proven commercial hardware and software technologies, and flexible pay-as-you-go pricing that allows customers pay only for the IT service they actually consume – as much or as little as needed.

ESCgov was founded in 2003 with a simple idea that industry can do a better job of addressing the business challenges faced by Federal agencies.  With budget dollars stretched thin and missions growing and adapting at unprecedented speed, ESCgov recognized that even the best technical solution is of little use if we don’t also make it affordable and actionable.  As a result, ESCgov develops fully integrated technical and price solutions that yield unprecedented levels of accountability, transparency and agility.

What do we do?

ESCgov is a provider of private-cloud capabilities, delivered as-a-Service.  Our business model combines proven commercial technologies, highly capable and cleared systems engineers, and a next-generation price model in which customers acquire capabilities on an as-used (per use, per month) basis.  When contractor payments are linked to delivered value, agencies reduce risk and gain a transparent accounting of dollars spent and value received.  In addition, capacity can fluctuate with demand, while customers pay only for what they use.

Examples

  • Software as a Managed Service – ESCgov combines cleared technical expertise with proven commercial software technologies to field powerful capabilities for the Department of Defense on a per use, per month basis.  DOD acquires the service using operational funds, and pays only for the specific value delivered each month.  ESCgov bears the cost (and risk) of the related acquisition, personnel, implementation, testing, and security approvals.  The government pays nothing until an approved, certified capability is yielding measurable operational value.

  • Software Library – ESCgov developed a flexible Software Library for an intelligence community customer, enabling the agency to “check out” software licenses when needed for projects.  Unused licenses may later be “checked in” and exchanged for other library products at no additional cost to the agency.  The ability to re-use licenses across projects and even exchange license types to maintain an optimal mix of fielded licenses paves the way for better utilization and lower life-cycle costs.  The Library is supported by a cleared ESCgov team with targeted subject matter and product expertise.

  • Mainframes on Demand – ESCgov provides mainframe computing to the defense department (as subcontractor) on a per MIPS per month basis.  ESCgov maintains ownership of the machines, which are housed at DOD facilities.  DOD pays based on its fluctuating monthly demand for computing capacity.

These are just a few examples of how ESCgov is working to transform the way information technology is acquired and used by federal agencies.  Currently, ESCgov is tailoring these models to support major programs as well. This will reduce risk and increase value for agencies, while providing an important source of competitive advantage to ESCgov and its industry partners who have embraced the value of utility-based solutions.
